A PLACE FOR PEOPLE WITH MULTICULTURAL BACKGROUNDs
Mixed people, diaspora people, second generation immigrants and third culture kids often share the same feelings of sense of belonging, sense of community and sense of home, despite their different backgrounds.
These feelings might be abstract, but they reflect in serious issues like nationality laws, language barriers, beauty standards, etc...
Skin Mutts was started by Olivia Lopez Calderon as a small video project at the end of 2019 in Belgium.
The project quickly resonated with many other people with a multicultural background. The community started to grow and the need to open the conversation around cultural identity became undeniable.

In the past years, Skin Mutts hosted events and workshops in some prominent Belgian institutions such as Artevelde Hogeschool, FOMU, Pianofabriek GC, VUB and Zomerfabriek.
In May 2022, Skin Mutts became a non profit organisation led by Olivia Lopez Calderon and Lisa Eeraerts.

Currently, Skin Mutts is based in Brussels, but will expand to Italy soon.
